2026-03-24

A fleet of 64 FAW Jiefang Tiger 6G high-end light trucks was recently shipped to the Philippine market, marking the first batch delivery of the Tiger 6G series in Southeast Asia and a solid step forward in FAW Jiefang's overseas premium light truck expansion.

Driven by reliable product quality, FAW Jiefang light trucks have maintained steady annual sales above 2,000 units for two consecutive years in the Philippines. Supported by a continuously optimized distribution network, Jiefang has become one of the premier light truck brands trusted by local users. To accelerate its overseas high-end light truck rollout, the project team successfully completed the planning, R&D, prototype build, and test assembly of the low-emission Tiger 6G series within three months. This resulted in the successful delivery of 32 cargo models and 32 dump models, fulfilling the company's commitment to the market.

The low-emission Tiger 6G premium light truck has successfully entered high-end markets in low-emission regions by offering three core advantages: high cost-effectiveness, reliable power, and superior load capacity.

  • High Cost-Effectiveness: The Tiger 6G cab is paired for the first time with a mechanical pump engine specifically tailored for local market needs. Featuring a trendy and modern interior and exterior, it allows users in low-emission markets to enjoy a premium vehicle experience.

  • Reliable Power: Powered by a 4.2L large-displacement mechanical pump engine, it offers stable, highly reliable performance and strong power output. Engineered for efficient operations, it handles steep climbs and downhill slopes with ease.

  • Superior Load Capacity: Cargo models feature a large-section straight-through frame paired with upgraded heavy-duty axles. Dump models utilize a double-layer frame with high-load axles and reinforced leaf spring suspensions, delivering exceptional load-bearing capability to boost user profitability.

In recent years, FAW Jiefang's overseas light truck business has achieved leapfrog growth, setting consecutive sales records—surpassing 5,000 units in 2023, climbing to 11,000 units in 2024, and exceeding 14,000 units in 2025. In September 2024, the Overseas Light Vehicle PDT (Product Development Team) was established, integrating resources across R&D, manufacturing, and marketing to drive efficient, synergistic operations and break through international market barriers.

FAW Jiefang's overseas light truck business continues to flourish across multiple global markets:

  • South Africa: Deep localized operations drove 2025 light truck sales to 2,700 units (a 130% year-on-year increase), highlighted by a 220-unit order for customized AMT models.

  • Myanmar: The market achieved a historic breakthrough as orders surged from over 100 units in 2024 to more than 1,000 units in 2025—officially entering the thousand-unit core market tier—followed by a major new order of 700 units in March 2026.

Looking to the future, FAW Jiefang remains focused on its "Global Jiefang" vision and "SPRINT 2030" international strategy. By prioritizing quality and customer demand, FAW Jiefang will continue introducing high-quality light trucks tailored for diverse global markets, unlocking new opportunities across overseas territories and advancing Chinese commercial vehicle brands onto the world stage.
